It¡¦s Taiwan¡¦s oldest, largest, most renowned Chinese language school, with the provision of dedicated, highly trained faculty, modern facilities and equipment. It offers language, culture, business, classical courses starting at all levels with small-group classes, tutorials, and extracurricular activities. In addition, the center runs classes for individuals with special needs (e.g., overseas Chinese that already speak the language, but would like to learn to read and write or Japanese who can write many characters, but cannot speak Chinese).

Moderate weather, good air quality, excellent international cuisine (meals US$2-4 on average), convenient and inexpensive transportation, inexpensive housing (US$175~300/room/month). The University is near subway/bus lines, exercise facilities, international cuisines, housing, entertainment, cultural facilities, beach, and mountains. Life here is modern, fun.

Teaching staff

l           CCLC has approximately 120 instructors: 100% have bachelor¡¦s degrees, 23% have master¡¦s degrees, 36% have degrees in Chinese literature.

l           Each undergoes rigorous screening before being hired and then receives specialized training in Chinese language instruction methodology. CCLC holds weekly workshops on Chinese teaching pedagogy to enhance and maintain teaching quality. Teachers receive objective evaluations from students twice each quarter.

l           Most CCLC instructors (>90%) have been invited to teach in universities abroad where they spend a minimum of one year teaching Chinese to foreign students and learning the latest teaching methods by exchanging views and discussions with university teachers. Extra-curricular activities

CCLC has a Culture and Tourism Information Office located in Room 702. It organizes a variety of activities (some free, some not), including speech competitions, the Dragon Boat Competition, various in-building activities, exhibitions, cultural excursions (half/full day), and 2-4 day excursions. CCLC also offers language exchanges with locals, lectures, tours, performances, field trips, and free movie screenings

There are two buildings with temporary accommodations on the NTNU campus where students can stay while they search for suitable accommodations. Students can also stay at the International House of Taipei. CCLC provides information to make looking for a place to stay easier.

All students are required to take part in CCLC¡¦s accident insurance plan.
